Lopez Holdings Corporation (PSE stock symbol: LPZ) incorporated in 1993 by the Lopez family of the Philippines to serve as the holding company for investments in major development sectors. Its current interests are in multimedia communications and in power generation, especially in the development of clean, indigenous and/or renewable energy sources.

Power and Energy

Lopez Holdings Corporation has interests in sustainable energy development, infrastructure, property development and green manufacturing through First Philippine Holdings Corporation (PSE: FPH).

FPH, a minority shareholder in Meralco (PSE: MER), is the parent company of leading clean and renewable energy advocate First Gen Corporation (PSE: FGEN), which in turn controls geothermal energy pioneer Energy Development Corporation. First Philec Corporation, a private entity, leads and manages FPH’s manufacturing portfolio. Publicly listed premium property developer Rockwell Land Corporation (PSE: ROCK), premier investment community First Philippine Industrial Park, construction firm First Balfour, Inc. are associated companies of FPH.

First Gen Corporation (First Gen) owns natural gas pioneers First Gas Corporation and FGP Corporation, and controls geothermal energy pioneer Energy Development Corporation. It also owns First NatGas Power Corporation and Prime Meridian Powergen Corporation, asset management companies for the 414-MW San Gabriel combined cycle natural gas-fired power plant and the 97-MW Avion open cycle natural gas-fired power plant, respectively.

 

Multimedia Communications

Lopez Holdings Corporation has interests in multimedia communications through publicly listed ABS-CBN Corporation (PSE: ABS).

ABS-CBN Corporation is in the business of producing world-class entertainment, news and information programs and in the continuous adoption of breakthrough technology to deliver these to its audiences not just in the Philippines, but globally.

ABS-CBN provides news and entertainment programs for a number of cable channels, targeting specific niche markets who prefer foreign entertainment programs, blockbuster Filipino movies, news and commentary, music, animè, and sports. ABS-CBN also controls SkyCable, the Philippines’ largest cable television service provider.

Outside of the Philippines, ABS-CBN reaches an estimated 2 million Filipinos out of the more than 10 million Filipinos overseas, through ABS-CBN Global’s The Filipino Channel (TFC). TFC is available in the USA, Canada, the whole of Europe, Australia, the Middle East, Japan, and a host of other Asia-Pacific countries via cable TV, DTH, Internet Protocol Television (IPTV), and the Internet through TFCNow!

ABS-CBN’s in-house produced programs also reach foreign audiences through the distribution of ABS-CBN content to countries in Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe and Africa.

Property Development

Lopez Holdings has strategic investments in property development through First Philippine Holdings Corporation, which controls Rockwell Land Corporation (PSE: ROCK) and First Philippine Industrial Park.

Rockwell Land has an established reputation for building communities beyond ordinary, delivering lifestyles and values to which all Filipinos aspire.

First Philippine Industrial Park is the preferred investment location for manufacturers in light industries. Its locators have created 40,000 jobs in its 450-hectare economic zone. Revenues come from land sales, lease of ready-built factories and commercial spaces, and sale of water. It is the only industrial park to receive Investors in People bronze level certification.

Manufacturing

Lopez Holdings has strategic investments in manufacturing through First Philippine Holdings Corporation, which houses them under First Philec Corporation (First Philec).

Under First Philec, the Electric Utilities Sector supports the needs of distribution utilities and is comprised of Philippine Electric Corporation, First Electro Dynamics Corporation, First Philippine Power Systems, Inc., and First Philippine Manufacturing Technologies Corporation.

The Photovoltaic Sector is intended to support the needs of solar panel manufacturers and service providers.
