STAR Channels Back on Air on SkyCable and HomeCable in the Philippines
17 April 2002, Manila: The STAR Group, SKY Cable, HOME Cable and provincial operator PCC jointly announced today that they had reached agreements on a settlement of past debt and terms for the immediate distribution of five STAR channels on their respective cable systems in the Philippines.

The agreement brings ESPN, STAR Sports, STAR Movies, National Geographic and STAR World into all their cable systems.

"We are pleased to have resolved the matter enabling us to move forward in a positive and friendly manner to reach multi-year terms for the carriage of our channels across the Philippines' largest and most important platform," said Bruce Churchill, STAR's President and Chief Operating Officer. "We look forward to playing an increasingly prominent role in meeting the demand for quality sports, movies and entertainment programming from our viewers in the Philippines."

SKY Cable, HOME Cable and PCC's distribution platform accounts for about 75% of households within the Philippines.

"With the return of the Star Channels, our subscribers will now enjoy, more than ever, the widest range of quality programming than any other cable operator," said Carlos V. Tria, Chief Operating Officer, Beyond Cable Inc., the holding company of SKYCable Metro.

Sky Cable offers the widest range of choice programming among all cable networks, while Home Cable offers superior value in its extensive and quality Filipino info-entertainment versus other price-oriented cable companies. Both SKYCable and Home Cable boast of exclusive programs in Metro Manila, such as Cinema One, Lifestyle Network, ANC, Vid-OK, Knowledge Channel, Link TV and Lounge TV.
