This year, we celebrate our company’s 20th anniversary and we envision the next 20 years with a strong organization conquering new markets.
With this vision as our guide, we are determined to build more communities that are consistent with the standards we set in our flagship project, Rockwell Center.
We are optimistic of the continued growth of our economy anchored on the outsourcing and offshoring industry, remittances from Overseas Filipino Workers and tourism which will benefit from the roll out of more PPP infrastructure projects. In my 4 years as Philippine Ambassador to Japan, I have seen the renewed interest of a lot of Japanese investors in the Philippines. Yokohama Tires, Canon, Furukawa Electric, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp. and the expansion of Mitsubishi Motors are just a few of these companies who have invested in the country upon seeing a very positive outlook. With these in mind, Rockwell has positioned itself strategically.
In 2014, we continued to expand our geographic reach by launching 32 Sanson in Cebu. In the same year, we introduced Aruga Serviced Apartments, our first venture into the hotel and leisure business. We closed the year with the acquisition of Tribeca, a 6-hectare property in Muntinlupa.
In the same year, Rockwell went beyond creating living spaces. We took part in worthwhile endeavors that uphold our values and helped the Filipino people. Inaugurated in April 11, 2014, The Chapel of the Two Hearts in Calauan, Laguna was our gift to the BayanNiJuan community, providing a place of worship for over 5,000 families. The chapel became a convenient shelter for typhoon-stricken families during Typhoon Glenda and Rockwell employees continued to be part of the lives of over 100 children from the White Cross Orphanage.
This year, 2015, we embark on another chapter of our growth story.
With consumer spending on the uptrend, we will start the expansion of the Power Plant Mall.
Our office portfolio will double with the addition of 53,000 sqm of gross leasable area from RBC Tower 3 and 8 Rockwell.
Nation building is integral to the company, as part of the bigger Lopez group.
We intend to make our presence felt across different market segments to give more Filipinos the opportunity to enjoy the Rockwell lifestyle.
Rockwell Land will touch more lives in the next 20 years.
